Each PDF page becomes a slide, and how editable it is depends on the source. A PDF exported from PowerPoint or similar usually yields text you can select and change. A scanned or heavily designed PDF often arrives as an image on the slide — you can move and resize it, but not retype the words.

Converting between them means reconstructing that structure, so spacing, line breaks and grouping can shift — especially with multi-column layouts or tightly packed graphics.
Slide dimensions follow the PDF page dimensions, so an A4 portrait PDF produces portrait slides rather than the usual 16:9. If you need widescreen, change the slide size in PowerPoint afterwards under Design, then Slide Size — expect to reposition some content once the aspect ratio changes.
